Darren is an avid startup supporter and innovator with over 7 years of diverse experience across multiple sectors. Having started out in Event Rental Technology, Darren has made leaps and bounds, leading both Customer Success and Project Management teams towards success.
Obsessing over things that matter, Darren strives to develop a core understanding of his customers so he along with his teammates can create innovative solutions that leverage exceptional technology. Having a diverse portfolio of experience has enabled Darren to gain an in-depth understanding of independent businesses while deepening his understanding of what it takes to solve pain points and provide solutions.
One of Darren’s most recent successors was acting as the Founding Senior Product Manager at one of the world’s largest rent anything marketplaces where he discovered his passion for marketplace startup business models. During this time, Darren learned how to solve obscenely complex problems by tapping into a new economy and studying the art of building Supply and Demand. Additionally, Darren gained the experience of a lifetime, learning about the many challenges that startups face during the early stages of development like launching a successful referral program, writing Terms of Service, creating insurance policies, and hiring and leading a stellar team of Development professionals.
Having Co-Founded his first technology company in 2014 with the main prerogative being to help small businesses across North America become more successful by empowering business owners with the tools they need to drive more business taught Darren the importance of empathizing with the non-technical founder.
Presently, Darren is combining his passion for marketplaces and empowering non-technical founders with his most recent venture, Marketplace Studio. Marketplace Studio is Darren’s passion project where he strives to help other entrepreneurs and marketplace founders avoid common marketplace mistakes.
